Ahi Kā (Home Fire) is a powerful sculpture that embodies the enduring presence and ancestral connection of Māori to the land. Crafted from weathered corten steel, its rust-hued surface evokes the warmth and resilience of a fire that never dies. The form rises in a sweeping arc, with flowing curves that suggest both flame and whakapapa (a line of descent from one's ancestors through time).
Ahi Kā stands as a living tribute to identity, guardianship, and the unbroken bond between people and place.
